“Racing with Ryan” was created by US Legend Car driver Alex Murray (#22) to memorialize his #1 fan, Ryan Beckett. Ryan is also the brother of Justin Beckett, a crew member on the Alex Murray Racing team.
Ryan, age 13, was in the 8th grade at Winkler Middle School. Ryan had high functioning Asperger’s which helped fuel his love for fast cars, all types of Racing and especially NASCAR. Ryan was a neighbor and friend of the Alex Murray Racing family and loved to cheer on Alex at the Summer Shootouts and see himself on the big screen with his Alex Murray fan sign. Ryan died on December 30, 2014, after fighting for his life at the Levine Children's hospital for two weeks. He passed away from complications with bacterial meningitis that attacked his body and brain. Alex wanted to keep Ryan's spirit and love for racing alive by running a decal with his name on his race car. The family of Ryan wishes to join with Alex Murray Racing to keep Ryan's spirit in racing alive and to help touch the lives of others.
The “Racing with Ryan” decal, as was first seen on Alex’s #22 Legend car, then his #22 Late Model, and now on his #22 USAC Midget, is available for all to purchase, place on their vehicle and to help us keep the decal running on race cars of all kinds. The proceeds from the sale of the decals will go to support local children’s Charities such as Victory Junction Gang Camp.
